Whistler Zip Line & Canopy Tour

Whistler zip line tours are fun for the whole familyZip line touring is the closest thing to flying

Imagine soaring through the air, 200 feet above ground, at neck breaking speed along the tree tops of the rain forest.

A zip line is an exhilarating way to experience Whistler and the mountains around Vancouver. It combines the elated feeling of soaring through the air with the breathtaking areal views of the beauty of the mountains and the rainforest.

Initially known as Canopy Tour, the sport originated in Costa Rica where it introduced participants to a unique way of communing with nature by traveling through the forest canopy on cables strung from forest tree to tree. Combining the excitement of the ride high in the trees with education regarding habitat, wildlife and history of the area, Canopy Tours became an instant success. Out of this forest adventure, in the past two years has sprung a new hybrid of this concept, called Zip lining.

Whistler zip line toursSafety is always a priority. Instruction is given to every rider. Each zip line system has a double or triple backup, and everyone is buckled into climbing harness equipment that is checked before the rider is hooked up to the zip line. Trained guides always accompany you.

New trolley and braking designs are allowing riders to descend steeper terrain, travel faster, further, and more frequently. More comfortable harnesses have removed the discomfort associated with hanging in the trees and have opened tours to opportunities to serve client groups that are younger, older and heavier. Find here more detailed information on zip line equipment.

Enjoy the spectacular drive from Vancouver to Whistler along the Sea to Sky highway, one of Canada’s most scenic highways.

Spend about 3 hours on a unique zip line system allows two guests to ride side-by-side, each on their own cable during a scenic three-hour tour. The excursion includes five dual zip-lines connected to each other by a network of trails and boardwalks. The largest canopy line is over 1500 ft in length, 400 ft above the ground and offers a 200 ft elevation drop from launch to landing, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/hr (60 mph).

After the zip line adventure you have some time to explore the village of Whistler before returning to Vancouver.
